CRUISE: DAY 1

okay, i still have no idea what i'm doing but people have been telling me to blog about our cruise so here goes....
the cruise was AWESOME! The life of luxury was divine, and it was a rude awakening when we got home.
(IN THE WORDS OF BRETT, typed by Hil)
It all started when we arrived in Fart Lauderdale. We got on a bus to start our trip to Miami. a jamaican man stood up to give us a seat. He fell in love with ellie and proceeded to tell us the 5 principles of becoming a true "Rosta Man." First, take care of the children, he said. second, protect the family. Third, protect the homeless. fourth, help the elderly. fifth, protect the motha and fatha. this was the first sign we weren't in utah anymore. and even though we were still in the states, it kinda felt like we weren't even in the states anymore.
The bus took us to a train, which would then take us to Miami. after a quick 40 min ride, and 40 min of brett's extreme paranoia that we would be robbed or stabbed, we arrived in Miami!
Then, out of the cheapness of our hearts, we waited for a shuttle to take us to the airport and the airport shuttle to the hotel- as opposed to taking a taxi. on the way to the hotel, starving from our ravenous voyage, we asked the driver to recommend a local restaurant. she said there were two restaurants near the hotel. there was one that served food from Honduras, and the other was Peruvian food. Both turned out to be bars, but the one from Honduras was also a discoteca. SO, Hilary and Ellie settled into the hotel room, while Brett walked across the street to get the Peruvian food. Being in a state where english is the second language, we expected excellent peruvian food, but instead got the cheapest gringo version of the food possible.
The room: the finest luxury that 60 bucks could buy in miami. Teeny bathroom. Teenier shower. And a room to match.
