CRUISE: DAY 2

DAY 2
After a surprisingly pleasant night of rest, Brett and Ellie ventured off to the continental breakfast to scrounge a Mother's Day feast fit for a Queen...or a Miami day time stripper. The food was bad, but the heart was there. Fortunately, Brett purchased a card not featuring vulgar language previous to leaving the only state that sells them. We hurried up to get ready to make our departure time for the shuttle to the port. we were only a meager 15 min late, which the shuttle crew openly "appreciated." On our way to the port, we passed the miami heat stadium, where we witnessed their interesting take on art in the form of a muscley buttocks of a Miami Heat basketball player, complete with rippling pectorales. We arrived at the port finally, just in time to enjoy a 2 hour wait for the remainder of our traveling companions- Trevor, Shannon, and little Sydney.
During this wait, we found a second Jamaican man selling jamaican meat pies. And of course we could not resist. the meat pies were okay. the only thing that was slightly disheartening was the fact that to tell the chicken pies from the beef pies, they marked directly on the pies with an ink marker. along with the pies, we enjoyed a true fruit punch, with actual chunks of fruit in it.
Ellie rounded out our wait by chasing pigeons while shouting "Tweet! tweet!" and starting a lovely tan. By the time Trevor and Shannon showed up, Brett had lost 5 lbs just through sweating.
We boarded the ship, and our dreams became a reality. We were now officially on a cruise! While the crew took our bags to our cabin, we took ourselves to the Welcome Buffet. Then we explored the ship a bit. The main deck and upper decks included a small pool, a large television screen, a waterslide, running track, volleyball court, miniature golf, and ping pong tables. needless to say, we were in heaven!
Inside the ship, each floor contained new surprises, and different levels of elegance, with a wide variety of activities.
We finally made it back to our room to chillax and unpack, and were greeted by a friendly towel walrus and mints upon entering. Our cabin was as small as we expected it to be, but the bathroom was surprisingly more spacious and comfortable than that of the bathroom in our hotel the previous night. In the room, there was a small tv. the channels included a safety/activity channel for the cruise, and 4 channels that rotated previews between Tangled, Harry Potter, and the one about Jim Carrey being gay for Ewen McGregor. There was also one that rotated Scooby Doo, but only clips of episodes, like 2/3 of a show. There was A movie channel that would play a movie, just one movie, for the whole day. Also, some spanish soap operas.
We felt like we were living in a small room off the side of Golden Corral.
